I have been very lucky

Today is my 55th birthday

I have been very lucky I had one big accident in Mont Blanc, 2 big bicycle accidents and one with my motorcycle where I could easily die but for some reason nothing happened.

Life is suffering , I know it is, but I have been spared , I have great family , old friends and colleagues, I work with very serious people, I have great clients I have been exposed to great people, really great people that I trust and admire.

What do I want? just to continue , to have contact with nature to be able to be with family and friends and to  work in my company until I dye.

Nature is no dummy

Something that has lasted a long time it's because it's robust, it could be luck but to be lucky a long time is not  Luck.  That is why I prefer to fly in old planes (if maintained), I buy old books that are still in print etc...

I guess that is why Warren Buffet does not invest in the new thing. It might disappear before we know it.

“Nature is pleased with simplicity. And nature is no dummy”

― Isaac Newton

The Lindy Effect is a theory that the future life expectancy of specific non-perishable items—like a technology or idea—is proportional to their age. Simply, the longer it has already lasted, the higher the likelihood it will continue to last.

Very little is needed to make a happy life

“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking.”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“How ridiculous and how strange to be surprised at anything which happens in life”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Anything is possible, enjoy what you have, accept and fight with a good face.

We are going to dig like never before.....

I saw this on twitter, I didn't check the numbers but even if it's not as big as mentioned we are going to spend the next 50 years digging like never before. If this machined work with Gasoline I guess we will need a lot of Gasoline.
