Long-term consistency trumps

Change habits forever, forget goals. I quit smoking when I had to come down to smoke , and one day I quit sugar and never looked back. To slowly improve it's very difficult for me. Moderation is very difficult for me.

Having a good network of friends and neighbours boosts survival chances by 50%, US researchers believe.

The Brigham Young University team came to this figure by number-crunching data from nearly 150 studies looking at survival odds and social networks.

And they calculate that having few friends is as damaging to survival as smoking 15 cigarettes a day or being alcoholic, PLoS Medicine reports.

They believe caring about others makes us take better care of ourselves.

A meta-study covering more than 300,000 participants across all ages reveals that adults get a 50 percent boost in longevity if they have a solid social network

You need to change your lifestyle early in life, not to live longer but to live better in your seventies, eighties and beyond

Gautam Baid

If you have lousy habits you are not going to die early , you are going to limp or sit in the last 10 years of your life. Old age must be difficult but if you have no money and can't walk it's even more complicated. Just move and eat a bit, be outside get plenty of sun start today.

I am going to walk my dog now.

To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

No human thing is of serious importance

No human thing is of serious importance

― Plato

“We must free ourselves from the prison of everyday affairs and politics.” ― Epicurus

We are our body, when our body is in shape we are ok, all the other problems in the world are minor. Most news are things that in 2 days are gone, to hear the news is a waste of time. To engage in politics behind finding someone decent to vote is a waste of time. To discuss with your wife is a waste of time she is not going to change and in two days everything is the same. The best course is to say yes to everything. To travel, to be in contact with nature and to read is the best of this life. No human thing is of serious importance I agree with plato.

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.
