I think money is not everything but I think is key to have money when you are old. It's a time that you can't work ,your health is disappearing you are vulnerable and sad with a bunch of new problems. You need some money when you are old and fragile. Otherwise the minimum is enough. I don't need a watch

If there is someone to help, some problem to address then you have the power to rule and to steal , that is the government job.
In my country anything that happens even god made problems the government assumes that it's their job.
cliffs near the sea fell and drowned some people that seek shade under the cliffs , government issued rules about security in the beach. Now it's regulated.
Each problem is an opportunity to extend government & of course more taxes
