A bad system will beat a good person every time.
if you completely ignore your goals and focused only on your system, would you still succeed? For example, if you were a basketball coach and you ignored your goal to win a championship and focused only on what your team does at practice each day, would you still get results? I think you would.------- The only way to actually win is to get better each day. In the words of three-time Super Bowl winner Bill Walsh, " The score takes care of itself". The same is true for other areas of life. If you want better results, then forget about setting goals. Focus on your system instead.

I think a bad system is an exaggeration but a ok system beats the human almost every time. What is the human better at? The big thing. When the markets / The stock market is normal the system/systematic guys make money almost everyday, they have the fishing net , they know what to do and most of the time we are on this regimen. When something big like COVID comes along, the big whale , systemic problem , the tsunami the human eye can react fast and have an edge. Some macro guys are very good in crisis, on a day today a system , a method a set of rules beats the human 99% of the time.
