Energy will be free in 25 years
Scientific American
published an article in 2011 asking whether Moore’s Law applies to solar
energy, and if so, might we already be on the course of a paradigm shift in
energy similar to what has occurred in computing. The answer is an unqualified yes.

I guess it's going to happen the same as with communications. There is a set up cost to install the infrastructure but after that the cost of use is zero! The marginal cost is zero! you will have to pay a flat fee like the connection to the net and then just use.
