Why in the US&japan experience is not a problem

I believe in Europe when you are 50 your company sends you home with an early retirement Plan. I came across First eagle Funds, one of the best in history and besides the legend jean Marie Eveillard 57 years of experience(They told me he goes to the office everyday) they have a bunch of old people around. does it work. You bet it does.

what about warren Buffet or George Soros! I believe in certain areas banking, investing and of course medicine (old doctors know more) age is a plus. Europe should copy the US. In fact i think Europe should copy the US in almost everything. To have people doing nothing is not good.30 years in retirement is crazy you get sick of barbecues.

I guess some of these old people change their roles but they are still useful. I intend to work till the end.

I believe in this:

Want to enjoy a longer, happier life? Just keep on working

“We have said to young people: stay in education until your mid-20s, retire in your mid-50s and live to your 90s,” says Harper. So we have people working for only 25 years to contribute to a 90-year lifespan. That is not the way society should be working.”

one good idea might be to buy stocks in undervalued currencies

why

usually cheap currencies economies are not booming and prices are cheap

cheap currencies export deflation (their troubles) and usually their stocks do very well

WHAT GETS MEASURED GETS DONE

Tuesday, August 13, 2019 Francisco 0 Comments

Tom peters says this in his blog

Both of my books, In Search of Excellence and A Passion
for Excellence,
are said to have placed renewed emphasis on the
qualitative aspects of business -- for example, on people,
customer satisfaction, nurturing of unruly champions and managing
by wandering around.

While that comment is true, I retain strong vestiges of my
engineering training from 25 years ago and admit to being a
closet quantifier. I think the soundest management advice I've
heard is the old saw; "What gets measured gets done."
when i want to lose some weight it's easy if i put myself everyday in a scales that measures weight and % fat i start to lose weight. It's simple either i stop measuring and give up or if i keep track of results in a paper i get better. I might slip one day or the other but after some time things start happening. Why? because i don't like to lose. I want to win in everything to get better to improve to feel better. I think everybody is like this.

start measuring the right things and the results will come

We have a Risk Off signal

Thursday, August 08, 2019 Francisco 0 Comments

We have a risk off signal almost everywhere (not in the US) but this signal was created by news (Trump, China, FED). So other news can reverse this situation. Anyway it's better not to play now. Too dangerous.

If you are a trader sell if you are for the long run....

IBD calls the market in correction

although they warn

Keep in mind that this current stock market is news-driven, so positive announcements could turn it around quickly. However, that hope is no reason alone to sit on your hands in the face of a deteriorating environment.

If you are a trader sell defend get out of the way we are in a correction and we don't know how big it will go.

if you are an investor i think central banks are going to fight the bear with all the guns. they will create inflation, ECB is going to come back with all the guns in September.

plan:

Defend
buy duration because Yuan devaluation is deflationary, S&P correction is deflationary, the inversion of the curve is deflationary and last but not least we are probably in mild recession already
perhaps buy a bit of Bitcoin and Gold (less enthusiastic)

play the bull market in everything
after the FED/ECB etc... start doing stupid things you can pretty much buy everything and sit back

why growth can keep doing more than value

Friday, August 02, 2019 Francisco 0 Comments

Conclusion:when someone tells you that value stayed behind growth then...... careful it can stay like this for a long time

3 reasons

1.Growth is scarce so people pay more for what is scarce

2.The composition of the growth Indexes is changing so the dispersion in valuations can persist. If it was always one company in any index it was difficult to open a gap forever, but even in this case that was possible.

3.when yields drop (discounting rates drop) and log duration assets (growth have the big cashflows in the future) growth does much better than value.

one great graph from the best investment houses. Blackrock (I don't get anything from them ahahaha)
