Cheap Energy = Good LifeEnergy is the Great Equalizer
I am sure the renewable movement , Climate change is DEAD for a while. When there is a crisis you do the rational thing, when we are at times of plenty prosperous there is room for all idiot ideas. What is sustainable is not solar panels that don't last and pollute the world after a short life.
why? Because when the world has cheap energy life is good when energy is expensive people live miserably
Renewables are not Clean (see below**)
Renewables are very expensive (I think a water Dam is a very good idea, they last forever)
Nuclear is Cheap and Clean and Safe (YES Safe)
Oil is cheap and helps a lot of poor countries but is not clean
Natural Gas is very cheap and clean
When a crisis hits people start doing the best thing.

The left/Democrats in my country Portugal are happy they got all their agenda with Covid 19The rich and the poor are both locked indoors
everybody lines up for supermarket PINGO DOCE
everybody with masks
no fancy restaurants
everybody eats own cooking (guess the rich are not used to cook/ nothing good here)
no travelling
no first class
no diving, no fancy cars
no staff at home
no expensive schools
No church
everybody watch NETFLIX
Greta is happy/the green people are happy
the animals are happy
the environment is happy
lots and lots of people depend on the welfare
companies are begging the government for money
Government is going to increase taxes soon
no consideration for deficit limits just spend
no revolution could do that
Enjoy while it last Bernie. Not for long is my suspicion...............
why? Because people want to live.

NO on dies of Old Age
Why Covid shut the world when Flu and other causes of death are much bigger and deadly?Because Covid is new? Perhaps
My take is that in all the rankings in the world no one dies of old age, so where they classify the people that die of old age? FLU, so it's not true that hundreds of thousands of people die of pneumonia & Flu etc... every year. It's simple not true it's a lie. Perhaps it's the lie that created the huge business of FLU shots.

If you pay 500 for nothing who is going to accept a job that pays 600?
The problem of the world is just one. Too much of everything. Yes excess supply is the problem of the world. If this is the problem you don't everybody to work. The world can have 50% of population doing nothing . But how would that people survive and spend?
my solution would be to provide a universal pension for everybody above 60. but pay nothing to working age people. If you pay 500 for nothing who is going to accept a job that pays 600?
I think Spain has no money to do this.

This will end with a brutal tax increase
There are 3 ways for the government to spend more1.better economy, growth
2.higher taxes & new taxes ( the new Covid tax)
3.Borrow more
Government Spending is trough the roof, economy is going down so I guess we will have more of 2 & 3
How to escape this fate. Perhaps to own equities & Gold. I think real estate is easy to tax. Everything you have in a bank will be taxed. Perhaps Corporates will escape the fury because they create jobs that is why I say Equities. In the short run we will have a difficult time Governments are going to run out of cash really fast.

The health problem is no problem

Capitalism is very good at solving problems and the health problem is going to be solved fast.
I know it's difficult to be optimistic but I am very optimistic on the health front. Unless we weight 2020 deaths more than in the previous years we don't have a huge problem. The number of deaths this year is barely above previous years. Only 1/3 of people that die with Coronavirus die because of Coronavirus. Having said this I am not so positive on the economy front. The State /the Government is going to meddle in everything and that is a negative every time no exceptions. There is a Bullmarket of fear and a Bullmarket of Government and that is not good at all. I have a strategy for investment in this new world.
I believe we should invest in who doesn't need help and ignore the people who are getting help. The people who are getting Government help will be damaged for a long time. I don't see a V for the economy.I don't see a V in the stock market.
Stay safe , help the non tech people that can not work remotely and help the people who have serious health problems and can't go to a hospital because of Coronavirus.
LAST YEAR 13,000 people died of respiratory problems in Portugal
we have less than 500 deaths with Coronavirus ( only 1/3 died of Coronavirus the rest died with different conditions)
Last year we did not have a journalist reporting any death, it was normal. This year we have news services dedicated to the number of people that have died in each region in each city everyday etc... He have health specialists that started saying that there was no danger, no chance of transmission by air etc... and now they pivot to close everything, masks etc...
